Overview
Borovets is a modern, high class ski resort offering an excellent
network of ski runs and lifts. It is the oldest and the biggest
mountain resort in Bulgaria and is at the foot of the Mousala peak,
which at 2,925 metres is the highest on the Balkan peninsula.
Bansko
is the newest, most fashionable and exciting ski resort in the region.
Surrounded by the Pirin, Rila and the Rhodopi mountains, Bansko is a
charming mountain resort with a short hot summer and long mild winter.
Snowfalls are abundant, providing a constant winter snow cover up to
two metres thick.
Set on Mount Vitosha, Aleko ski centre is situated just 22 kilometres from Sofia and is Bulgaria’s highest ski resort.
Pamporovo
is the snow pearl of the Mountains of Orpheus and is the sunniest high
mountain resort in Bulgaria, enjoying more than 240 sunny days a year
8.5°C and a blanket of snow in winter between 140 and 150 centimetres
deep.
While Chepelare, in the beautiful Rhodopi
mountains in the southern part of Bulgaria, provides one of the best
skiing environments in the country.
